The result? The participants drew with great enthusiasm: the harbour, their favourite beach, or even their entire island. Using red stickers, they identified areas of pollution or biodiversity loss, and using green stickers, they highlighted positive actions to protect their environment.
A striking example? A young boy who added a green dot to ‘the wave I’m surfing’, perfectly illustrating the strong connection between nature and human activities.
The Ecomap is an excellent opportunity for children to become aware of the impact of their actions and to adopt positive solutions to help preserve biodiversity. Well done to the young island cartographers for their dedication!
